Acýbadem Hastanesi (Hospital) was a small local hospital 16 years ago. Now it is a major health group in Turkey, with 17 health centers and an annual revenue of $250 million. The secret of their success is their vision and their ability to make the right investments at the right time, according to CEO Mehmet Ali Aydýnlar. He also underlined the importance of maintaining a good team.
Aydýnlar started work as a freelance accountant in the late 1980s. Among his customers were a group of doctors who were about to found the Acýbadem Hospital. He bought some shares to help them out. Then the "inevitable rise" of the hospital began. Another contributing factor to the success was their corporate model for the hospital the first in which the management consisted of professionals, not doctors the management is now trained within the corporation.
